━ COMMUNITY
Background
In 2022 we here at HSCC started the Reverse Advent Calendar Project in the understanding that many in our community were struggling to make ends meet, for some it was a decision of paying the bills or buying food.
In its first year with the very generous support of many businesses, schools and community minded citizens we were able to collect 440 hampers for the Christian Emergency Food Centre to distributed to their diverse cliental throughout Horsham and surrounding areas. Over two years 820 hampers have been collected and given out to people.
Our goal for 2024 is to collect and hand out 500 Hampers to those who need it the most in our community.
What Does “Advent“ Mean?
In Christianity, Advent refers to the period of four weeks leading up to Christmas. It is a time of anticipation and preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day.
A Reserve Advent Calander is about giving to others during Advent as opposed to receiving.
It is simple and easy;
Step 1: Come into Horsham Sports and Community Club,
Step 2: Pick up a box or boxes from reception, each box will come with a list of items that will go in the box.

Step 3: Return the filled boxes back to HSCC.
